Fisher Productions stages major investment in Setsquare

Event production company Fisher Productions has announced a major investment in Surrey-based Setsquare Staging, the event construction business founded by John O’Gorman 25 years ago. While not revealing the full figure of the investment, Fisher says it is set to double the value of Setsquare and will turn Fisher into a £20m company.

Fisher CEO Graham Beswick said: “We are extremely excited to embark on this new venture. Setsquare is a creative and technical hub that has been manufacturing extraordinary work for over a quarter of a century. This is an exciting opportunity for both Fisher Productions and Setsquare Staging to develop a staging capability second to none.”

O’Gorman added: “I first met Graham when I was approached by Fisher Productions ‘to do more business together’… By the end of our first meeting, I had an investor in the company. Graham is everything that myself and the staff at Setsquare have been waiting for. We started as a family affair and have enjoyed continuous growth over the years, with last year alone accounting for a 35 per cent increase over the previous year. We need to separate the operational side of the company, to empower our current management to focus more on our clients and future innovation.

“We want to continue to invest our forces to deliver work of the highest standards with emphasis on detail and delivery. Graham and his team, bringing their business acumen and expertise, means that we will be able to further achieve our clients’ needs, by releasing us from the everyday running of the business.”

The companies have worked together in the past and Setsquare will maintain its management and premises in Mitcham.

Fisher Productions is preferred supplier at 100 of London’s listed and historic venues. The company is the only event production company to hold a Royal Warrant for the provision of lighting and production services.
