Event industry debating forum EventHuddle is to ask industry professionals the question: “As an industry, should we rally behind an ‘in’ or ‘out’ vote in the EU referendum?” at its next debate.

Following on from its initial debates in 2015, EventHuddle returns 13 January 2016 at 1 Wimpole Street London for its first New Year debate chaired by Kevin Jackson, director of innovation and ideas at Experience is the Marketing.

Panellists confirmed to take on the question will include former MP and head of the All Party Parliamentary Group for events Nick De Bois (pictured), who is now chair of the BackZac2016 Campaign for Mayor of London; Des Mclaughlin, outgoing divisional director of Grass Roots and Brendan Chilton, general secretary for Labour Leave.

Kirk Thomas, managing director of EventHuddle’s parent company Athena Events Group, said: “We have been promised a referendum on our EU membership for the first time in a generation and, regardless of the result, it will have a massive impact on the events industry both here in the UK and further afield; for decades and even centuries. But what is that impact and how will it affect business? We need to start talking about this now.”
