Informa’s Global Exhibitions Division has expanded its Life Sciences portfolio with the acquisition of FIME Exhibition & Congress in Miami, Florida.

Now in its 25th year, FIME serves the communities of North and South America with a primary focus on medical technology, medical products and supplies, medical services, and medical equipment.

Informa said FIME complements its existing collection of 22 exhibitions and in excess of 100 conferences across the EMEA and APAC Life Science markets.

Under Informa’s stewardship, FIME will continue to offer a multi-speciality conference programme in line with Informa’s motto of ‘Exhibition with Education’.

Charlie McCurdy, CEO of Informa’s Global Exhibitions Division said: “The acquisition of FIME will generate substantial value for our customers and partners by driving further product innovation and deeper engagement in these specific markets.

“Informa has the resources as a global company to grow the show on a strategic level and we anticipate the show will become a key component of our Global Exhibitions Division.”

Simon Page, MD, Informa Life Sciences Exhibitions (pictured) said Informa has a long-term strategic vision to continue to expand the Life Sciences’ exhibition business into the American markets.

“The recent acquisition of FIME fits in firmly with our goal of expanding our international trade show operations in the region and with our existing portfolio of life sciences events across the globe,” Page added.

The organiser has also recently acquired the US-based Virgo Group, as well as Orlando MegaCon and Hanley Wood Exhibitions.
