AFRICA – Organisers of African Utility Week and Clean Power Africa report a record attendance for the expanded events held recently.

Event director Evan Schiff, of Clarion Events, said a record 6000 people attended the Cape Town shows on 12-14 May.

“This year we raised the bar in every aspect of African Utility Week, from adding an extra day to producing an exciting and relevant programme with thoughtful speakers, to building our largest expo to date of more than 10,000sq m,” Schiff said.

The events featured 250 exhibitors, including several international pavilions from Germany, Norway, Italy, India, South Korea and the United States.

Meanwhile, attendees benefited from 64 free technical workshops and the expertise of 200 speakers addressing eight conference tracks.

Visitors included power and water professionals from private industry and government departments ranging from generation, metering, finance and investment to smart grids and renewable energy.
