Saudi Build organiser confident in region sustaining its construction spend

SAUDI ARABIA - Project manager of trade show Saudi Build believes a growing exhibition is representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ability to sustain its double-digit spend across all construction sectors.

With nearly 40 per cent of the population under the age of 14, Shahid Bhatti says long term demand for homes and various road, agriculture and water projects will be strong, and that the Kingdom is expected to build 1.5m homes by 2015.

Bhatti is confident about Saudi Build 2010, reporting that it is on course to be bigger than last year, with 12 more country pavilions than last year and 7,000sqm more space to reach a total of 30,000sqm.

“We have recently added Belgium, Egypt, UK, France and Taiwan to the growing list of country pavilions at the exhibition for this year,” he says.

Saudi Build 2010 will take place in October at the Riyadh Exhibition Centre.
