Congress Center Dusseldorf gets new space

GERMANY - The CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf, host to 2,000 events and 400,000 visitors each year, is adding 1,000sqm of exhibition space and pushing ahead with a modernisation programme for its meeting facilities.

Rooms 5 to 8 on the first floor of the CCD Congress Center are to be fully refurbished by next summer and fitted out with new air conditioning and lighting. Partition walls will transform individual units and affiliated foyers into a new exhibition area.

The work means that the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf will be able to provide 4,300sqm of net exhibition space overall. The plan is for Rooms 4a to 4c to be greened over with a planted atrium.

The new work follows last year’s facelift of the CCD Sud foyer and the opening of a new CCD Business Lounge. In May 2010 CCD unveiled two charging stations for mobile phones in the shape of a freestanding cube.

Managing director of DüsseldorfCongress, Hilmar Guckert, sees the modernisation programme as an important investment for the future: “The work will create a uniformly modern ambience throughout the CCD Congress Center Düsseldorf, accommodate new technical requirements and further optimise the premises we offer.”
