EXHIBITION WORLD WINS BEST RELAUNCH AT UK INDEPENDENT PPA AWARDS

PPA Award Win Close

EUROPE – Mash Media’s re-launched Exhibition World has been recognised for innovation and design at the UK’s PPA Independent Publisher Awards, held in London on Tuesday 4 December.

The annual event, established by the Professional Publishers Association (PPA) to reward excellence in the UK’s independent publishing sector, resulted in awards for Exhibition World’s innovative relaunch in 2011.

The magazine, edited by Antony Reeve-Crook and aimed at organisers of international exhibitions and related business events, is the only print publication to be officially endorsed by UFI, the global association for the exhibition industry.

Commenting on the magazine’s fresh approach, a spokesman for the PPA said: “Exhibition World underwent a fantastic redesign that improved the product in every single way, resulting in great commercial success. The judges praised Exhibition World for a great solid all-round lesson in how to relaunch.”

The spokesman also praised Exhibition World designer Sarah Garland, who won a high commendation for her part in the magazine’s renovation in the Designer of the Year category. “The judges wanted to highly commend Sarah for very good integration of typography and imagery, good page navigation and great picture research,” they commented.

Exhibition World stablemate Conference News continued Mash Media’s successful day at Vinopolis in central London, picking up the gong for Business Magazine of the Year.

Mash Media MD Julian Agostini said the recognition for the hard work, innovation and talent of the editorial team comes at a time when the publisher’s journalists are leading the push to promote the power of events to the UK and world economy.

“We have invested in our brands and in our sector and it is satisfying to have this effort acknowledged by the independent publishers network, which includes some of the most outstanding examples ofentrepreneurial brilliance in the country,” he said.
