ASIA – Food and Hotel Vietnam (FHV), a biennial trade show for the food service and hospitality industry, will be brought forward by five months next year.

Organised by Singapore Exhibition Services (SES) and VCCI Exhibition Service, the next edition of FHV will now be held from April 24 to 26 2013 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.

The peak period for Vietnam's food service and hospitality industry usually lasts from September to March. The move is therefore timed to coincide with the traditional increase in the buying of equipment, as well as food and drink supplies between April and September.

"SES is always striving to bring our events to a higher level by listening to, and incorporating feedback, from our exhibitors and visitors,” said Ting Siew Mui, project director of Lifestyle Events, SES.

“By moving the dates from September to April, the local foodservice and hospitality communities will be able to peruse the wide range of products and services that will be displayed across the exhibition show floor, and make purchasing decisions that can add benefit to their business over a longer period of time.”

The last show in September 2011, had 9,860 trade visitors, a 26 per cent increase from 2009, In all, there were 12,075attendees.

The show also had 373 exhibitors, of which 74 per cent were from overseas.

Singapore Exhibition Services also runs the Communicasia exhibition.
