Providence Equity Partners, previous owner of Clarion, is reportedly in negotiations to acquire UK-based international organiser CloserStill Media for an unconfirmed sum.

The company is being sold by Inflexion, which announced a Partnership Capital minority investment in CloserStill in 2015.

The move is one of a number of large private equity deals throughout 2018, peaking with the £3.9bn acquisition of UBM by Informa, demonstrating the increasing interest in the industry from investors.

CloserStill has seen significant growth in recent years, with the acquisition of several UBM tech shows in 2017, the acquisition of EHI Live, an agreement to run ad:tech in the UK and more.

US-based Providence Equity Partners owned Clarion Events up until the July 2017 sale to Blackstone for £600m.

CloserStill is being advised by DC Advisory Partners.
