Angus Montgomery Ltd, one of the world’s oldest exhibition and events organisers, has acquired a majority stake in FIT Events Ltd, organiser of the Fabricator Installer Trade (FIT) Show.

The event serves the UK window, door, glass and glazing sectors and occupied three halls at the NEC in May 2017.

Angus Montgomery’s managing director Damion Angus said: “We have been very aware of the FIT Show and the tremendous success that the event has become since its first outing in 2013 at the International Centre Telford. After just three events, in May 2017 the FIT Show moved to the NEC where it occupied three halls.

“Becoming involved with the event and the people behind it will greatly enhance our activities in the sector specifically and our portfolio overall. In return we believe we can offer a great deal of experience to the FIT Show and its exhibitors – this is very much a two-way arrangement. We are very excited to be working with the founders of the FIT Show who will continue to run it.”

FIT Show co-founders Matthew Glover and Paul Godwin remain shareholders and directors of the company – with Matthew as chairman– as does event director Nickie West. In most other respects the business remains unaltered. Also winning a number of other accolades including two at the 2014 Exhibition News Awards, a further event Visit Glass will launch alongside the window and door show when it takes place next in May 2019.

Speaking for FIT Events Ltd Matthew Glover commented: “With the growth of the FIT Show in such a relatively short time, coupled with ambitious plans for its future development, it became clear that we would benefit from additional expertise and investment. We believe the time is right to seek further resources and management input and Angus Montgomery expressed a keen interest to become involved. Paul, Nickie and I have looked closely at what Angus Montgomery can bring to the FIT Show and Visit Glass and we are unanimous in our decision to join with them.

“We are very impressed with their approach and believe it will be very good for our shows and for the exhibitors that have supported us so well.”
