We all know that organisers are facing the need to constantly innovate to offer optimal participant experience and return on investment.  Venues are a critical piece in the exhibition industry puzzle, and they are also increasingly under pressure to match the ever-evolving event models and organiser needs.

A couple of years back, AMR published a white paper on future venue requirements, outlining three essentials for future-proofing: high quality networking facilities, connectivity and modularity.

Two years on, the development of networking facilities is on track with most venues offering enriched networking experiences: plenary, conference and satellite rooms, restaurants and lounges.

Nevertheless, connectivity and modularity remain a priority. Connectivity capabilities still vary greatly between venues and further improvement, especially in exhibition halls, is required. This is crucial as visitors expect a positive, connected experience throughout the site.

While most venues offer modular solutions for meeting rooms, the approach appears less systematic for exhibition halls. To maximise utilisation, venues need to further adapt their commercial offering to match evolving event formats.

It is the flexible, connected venues that most easily facilitate positive experiences that will thrive. They are best placed to keep pace with evolving event models and other fundamental long-term industry trends.
