Puerto Rico has given an update on its recovery efforts at IMEX America.
Audiences heard that the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport International Airport (SJU) resumed its 24-hour operations as of 4 October and is now operating 24 hours a day.
Augustín Arellano, president of Aerostar, said the expectation is that airlines will continue to increase trips to and from the island in the next weeks.
Despite the operational difficulties caused by the storm, the airport managed to process 423 military operations and 380 humanitarian aid flights during the week of 25 September. By the end of October all flights should be the operating on a regular schedule.
