VisitEngland’s head of Business Events, Simon Gidman, has left the national tourism board after more than 10 years and has taken up a new role at Tourism Australia.

VisitBritain tells EW's sister title CMW that it would be announcing a new head of business events “imminently”.

Gidman has been named as the new business events manager for UK/Europe at Tourism Australia.

Gidman’s departure is the latest in a string of managers to leave the national tourism board in recent months. Chris Foy, head of business events at VisitBritain, left in July and has since joined VisitAberdeenshire.
