A new Thailand-based joint venture is limbering up to launch the revamped Asia Fitness Conference and Expo 2015 (AFC 2015), which will include a Guinness World Record attempt.

Bangkok-based organiser Asian Exhibition Services (AES) has teamed up with Fitness Innovations Thailand (FIT) to overhaul and rebrand the former Asia Fitness Convention.

AFC 2015 will be staged at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) on 9-11 October.

The event is expected to attract more than 2,000 fitness industry professionals and the organiser reports all 1,150 conference tickets have sold. About 70 per cent of visitors will be drawn from overseas.

Visitors have also been invited to participate in an attempted to set a record for the world’s biggest resistance band session.

AES managing director David Aitken said: “The joint-venture between AES and FIT is a fantastic opportunity to develop what is already a highly professional and successful convention for the region into a world-class international conference and exhibition for the entire Asian market.”

“The re-branding and new partnership of the event is already achieving significant strides as Asia Fitness Conference and Expo 2015 sells out on the conference for the first time and the exhibition expands by more than 50 per cent.”

The three-day conference and exhibition will use all available congress space at BITEC to deliver more than 200 sessions on topics ranging from sports conditioning to group fitness, rehabilitation and recovery.

Exhibitors will include sports equipment, clothing, nutrition, education services and distributors, including Technogym, Reebok, Power Plate, Mad Dogg Athletics, Balanced Body and Escape Fitness.

AFC 2015 has received support from Thailand’s Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Sport Authority of Thailand and TCEB, under the Office of the Prime Minister.
