International Travel & Hospitality Show to debut in Oman

MIDDLE EAST - Oman International Trade and Exhibitions (OITE) is anticipating a successful first International Travel & Hospitality Show (ITHS) due to the expansion in Oman’s inbound and outbound tourism sector.

According to the organiser, Oman is experiencing an encouraging period of progress in its tourism and hospitality segment, so the time is ripe for an event like ITHS to tap into the potential of products and services within key emerging sectors in the global travel, tourism and hospitality industry, the OITE has claimed.

The inaugural show will take place at the Oman International Exhibition Centre on 15-17 December, moving from an original position in April.

“Travel enthusiasts looking out for top holiday destinations and best travel deals, can get in touch with tour agents, operators, airlines, agencies, hotels and hospitality providers catering to the same,” said OITE Trade Fairs senior manager Ashit Barnes.

“Since the global travel, tourism and hospitality sectors are marked for long term growth, ITHS 2013 presents the perfect opportunity for both local and international companies belonging to these sectors to showcase inbound, domestic, outbound and international tourism opportunities as well as Oman’s unique and warm hospitality to both local and international visitors,” said Barnes.

The organiser is looking to attract corporate and leisure travel managers, destination management companies, events and incentive planners, tourism development investors, travellers, hospitality sector students, travel agents, travel trade members and government representatives.

In other news, the infrastructure works for the redevelopment of the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC) has been awarded to Khalid Bin Ahmed and Sons (KAS) - Al Habib Joint Venture (KAS-Al Habib JV).
