Reed Exhibitions launches exhibition on marine environmental accidents

EUROPE - Reed Exhibitions is building a new exhibition around the 2014 edition of its biennial conference Oceanology International.

Spillex will focus on the prevention of, and response to, environmental incidents in the marine environment. The event takes place at Excel London on 11-13 March 2014.

“There is no doubt that providing a platform for the overlap between the international oceanology industries and the environmental impact prevention and response sector can be successful as we saw in 2012,” said exhibition director, James Coleman.

“We are therefore delighted to announce that, in response to industry demand, Spillex will besupported by the Eurospill Association, and held alongside Oceanology International 2014, to cater to that need.”

The exhibition area and seminar programme will feature organisations involved with technologies and services such as spill prevention and response, training, contingency planning, oil spill modelling, environmental sensitivity mapping, and well and pipeline incident detection and intervention. Exhibitors will aim to highlight ways of operating with the least possible environmental impact.

Director of the EuroSpill Association, Roger Mabbott, said: “Interspill takes place every three years and this new exhibition, Spillex in 2014, is designed and organised by Reed Exhibitions as a more focused platform for companies to leverage new opportunities alongside Oceanology International in the non-Interspill years.”

Reed Panorama Exhibition (RPE) recently partnered with the Indonesian government for another biannual maritime event, held in Jakarta.
