Expanded Interzoo welcomes more international exhibitors

GERMANY – Pet supplies exhibition Interzoo has grown its floor space for 2010 and is to welcome a bigger international presence.

The bi-annual event has increased space by 1,000sqm, now totalling 90,000sqm. Of the 1,450 expected exhibitors, 79 per cent will be coming from abroad, a two per cent increase on 2008.

"The industry is counting on positive development of the international pet supplies market, because experience shows that pet owners set other priorities than consumers without pets," says chairman of Interzoo Exhibition Committee, Hans-Jochen Büngener.

This year, 43 per cent of exhibitors will showcase articles for dogs and cats, with the second largest product segment being aquaria with 20 per cent. A further 15 per cent have products for cage and aviary birds.

Büngener says two trends he expects to see include “dependable quality at prices geared to target groups in all segments and many new products in the health and fitness segment”.

Interzoo 2010 takes place on 13 – 16 May at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg.
