AUSTRALIA – The Australian Event Awards are to be held at the Sydney Olympic Park for the next three years.
The NSW Government's Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) won the bid to host organisers, venues, contractors and suppliers from across the country in Sydney in October.
“This was a tough decision,” says executive producer of the awards, Jeremy Miller, “Sydney Olympic Park, with a capacity to host sporting grand finals to concerts, festivals and business events, is a perfect fit for the awards.”
For the next three years the precinct will showcase its product to the organisers behind such events as the Australian Open, the Tour Down Under and the 2009 Australian Event of the Year, the Biennale of Sydney.
The award programme will culminate in the presentation of the Australian Event of the Year Award.
