GERMANY – Messe Munich has appointed a new exhibition director to head its Munich-based architecture, materials and systems fair BAU.
Mirko Arend, who has been working for Messe Munich since 2005, replaces outgoing exhibition director Markus Geisenberger to take charge of the event.
More than 1,900 exhibitors from over 40 countries are expected to take part in next year’s BAU at New Munich Trade Fair Centre from 17 to 22 January 2011. Up to 210,000 visitors are expected from around 150 countries.
Geisenberger will remain at the Messe Munich, taking a new role as head of the technology fairs Laser, Automatica and Electronica.
