Restructuring to blame for Clarion MD redundancy

UK - The CEO of Clarion Events says outgoing group MD Kent Allen is leaving the company as the result of a management restructure he was responsible for driving.

The organiser behind defence and security exhibitions including DSEI, ITEC and Undersea Defence Technology, as well as an array of international energy and gaming conferences, confirmed yesterday that Allen would be leaving the company as a result of redundancy.

Ultimately there was no role in the new senior management structure for Allen.

Speaking to EW about the group MD’s departure, Clarion CEO Simon Kimble said: “Kent has played a hugely influential role in the development of Clarion Events and has created a senior management team which is now positioned to take on new challenges as we enter the next phase of our growth.

"As a result the role doesn't fit with our future senior management structure and sadly this has meant Kent leaving the business. Myself and all at Clarion Events wish him the very best for the future."
