GERMANY - A new trade show on gem and jewellery industry technology is launching in Germany.
As its name suggests, the Gemtec exhibition showcases technology for the gem and jewellery industry, and hopes to draw goldsmiths, jewellers and jewellery producers looking to explore a variety of technological innovations, ranging from computer aided design and intelligent office software to prototype moulding technologies and laser tools.
Event organiser Intergem Messe designed the public show, to be held at Messe Idar-Oberstein on 28 - 30 May, as a “workshop fair”, giving visitors and opportunity to test the technology for themselves.
“Modern technology for the jewellery and gemstone trade must not be just presented", says managing director of Intergem Messe, Kai-Uwe Hille. “Professionals need the chance to improve their technological orientation by interacting with these new technologies.”
