BELGIUM - The Antwerp Diamond Bourse (exhange) opens its doors this month to an exclusive group of industry figures for the first-ever Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair.
Tight security measures mean getting buyers inside the Bourse is a rare event. “It’s worse getting into the Bourse today than getting on a plane,” says communications liaison for Antwerp Diamond Trade Fairs, Ya’akov Almor. “It will be like walking into Ali Baba’s cave and seeing all the treasures.
“The trading hall itself is a beautiful, wood-panelled hall which has been home to the bourse since before the second world war.”
Running from 7 to 9 February, the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair will see 43 of Antwerp’s diamond firms display their diamonds to retailers from all over Europe and the globe.
